Delhi violence: GTB Hospital says 22 dead, 200 patients treated

The death toll in the North East Delhi communal violence over the amended citizenship law rose to 22 on Wednesday, according to GTB Hospital authorities.

Medical superintendent of GTB Hospital, Delhi on Wednesday said that the hospital has treated 200 patients and 22 deaths have taken place so far.

Medical superintendent of GTB Hospital Sunil Kumar said that majority patients have been discharged.

“Thirty-five patients are still admitted here. Today, we received 16 patients since morning and none of them is serious,” Sunil Kumar said.

The death toll in the North East Delhi communal violence over the amended citizenship law rose to 22 on Wednesday, according to GTB Hospital authorities.

On Tuesday, the death toll was 13. “The death toll has risen to 22,” Medical Superintendent of GTB Hospital Sunil Kumar Gautam said.

Of the 22 deceased, four were brought to the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital from the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital earlier in the day, a senior official said.
